Consumer Responsibilities

As a valued customer, you play a vital role in protecting the environment. When your Ombase device reaches the end of its usable life, do not dispose of it in household waste or unorganized municipal scrap bins. Instead, return it to our authorized e-waste recycling program for eco-friendly dismantling and materials recovery.

Together, we can ensure that hazardous substances are properly contained and precious metals are recovered for future green computing production.

Step 1: Schedule a Pickup

Submit your product details via our Recycling Request Desk or call our dedicated customer support desk.

Step 2: Handover or Drop Off

Choose doorstep pickup (where available across covered pin codes) or visit an authorized Ombase collection drop-off center near you.

Step 3: Certified Recycling

Your device will be processed by a CPCB-approved (Central Pollution Control Board) e-waste recycler, ensuring safe dismantling, data destruction, and recovery of reusable materials.

Data Protection & Customer Privacy

Your digital security and privacy are of paramount importance. Before handing over or recycling your device, we strongly recommend that you take the following protective measures:

1. Back Up All Data

Create a verified backup of all critical personal files, documents, photos, and databases onto cloud storage or an external storage drive.

2. Remove Personal Info

Log out of all operating system accounts (Microsoft, Google, Apple), remove saved payment methods, and remove any external SD cards or SIM cards.

3. Factory Reset

Execute a complete factory data wipe / secure formatting across all internal SSDs, NVMe drives, or HDDs to erase cryptographic keys.

Ombase Assurance: Regardless of preliminary wiping, all collected storage drives entering our recycling stream are securely demagnetized, mechanically shredded, or rendered completely inoperable before metallurgical recovery.

Environmental Impact of E-Waste & Indian Law

Improper disposal of electronic waste can lead to harmful environmental and health consequences. Materials such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and brominated flame retardants—found in common electronics—can leach into groundwater aquifers, contaminate agricultural soil, and release toxic dioxins into the atmosphere if burned.

At Ombase, we believe that designing world-class computing technology also means caring for the world around us. Our recycling program fully complies with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, and we work exclusively with certified PROs (Producer Responsibility Organizations) and recycling partners licensed by the CPCB and State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs).
